How do I know if I'm pregnant?

If you had unprotected sex or experienced a birth control mishap, you might be wondering if you are pregnant. The best way to find out for sure is to take a pregnancy test and have an ultrasound.

If you haven’t yet done this, there are signs that you can look for that will indicate pregnancy. The most well-known sign is a missed period, but there are plenty of others that you might notice. Other symptoms include:

  • Nausea (morning sickness)

  • Bleeding or cramping

  • Tender or swollen breasts

  • Frequent urination

  • Atypical food aversions or cravings

  • Darkening of the nipples

If you notice any of these symptoms, it could mean you are pregnant. We recommend that you contact us today for a no-cost pregnancy test in our center.

What are the signs of an STI?

Most often, someone with an STD has no symptoms. So, unfortunately, if you are sexually active but symptom-free, it doesn’t necessarily mean that you or your partner are not infected.

The need for STI testing is based on one’s age and also risk factors or risk behaviors.

Occasionally, a sexually transmitted infection will produce symptoms such as:

  • Burning with urination

  • Discharge

  • Odor

  • Cramping

  • Spotting or discomfort with sex

  • Bumps or sores

Symptoms like these should be explored with our qualified healthcare provider.

How much will my appointment cost?

Nothing. Your appointment at Haven Center, including pregnancy test, ultrasound, and STI test is completely free.

When should I get an ultrasound?

After taking a pregnancy test that has a positive result, you should then confirm the pregnancy by having a limited ultrasound. An ultrasound will provide you with important information about your pregnancy that can inform your decision-making process. An ultrasound can detect a fetal heartbeat, let you know how far along your pregnancy has progressed, and tell you where the pregnancy is developing. All of this is crucial information to help you determine what your next steps should be.

Can I bring someone with me to my appointment?

Yes. We know this can be a stressful and anxiety-filled time in your life, so we encourage our visitors to bring a friend or close family member with them. You do not have to go on your pregnancy journey alone, and you don’t have to come to your appointment alone either.

Do you perform abortions?
